Human rights must be part of any talks with North Korea: UN Investigator

And while preparations for the upcoming North Korea summits are coming along,... the United Nations has chimed in,... saying human rights *must be part of any discussions with Pyongyang.
Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council on Monday,... Thomas Quintana, a special rapporteur on human rights added that North Korea should allow him to visit and make an "assessment on the ground," saying this is what he "expects from the DPRK in this new environment in regard to negotiations on the nuclear issue."
North Korea had been repeatedly slammed for its human rights abuses,... including the execution of prisoners and system of state-run gulags.
And as for detainees,... six South Koreans and three American citizens remain in captivity in North Korea.
