Pelosi: Mueller Indictments Show Russians Engaged In 'Strategic Effort' To Support Trump's Campaign

Nancy Pelosi said on Friday that the indictments against Russian nationals demonstrate the "gravity of the Trump-Russia scandal."

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said on Friday that the indictments against Russian nationals for meddling in U.S. election reflect the "gravity of the Trump-Russia scandal."
"The Special Counsel's indictments make absolutely clear that the Russians perpetrated a strategic effort to undermine and influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election to support the campaign of Donald Trump, and are continuing to interfere with our elections," Pelosi said.
"As desperately as President Trump insists that the Special Counsel investigation is a 'hoax', these latest indictments build on multiple guilty pleas and indictments of several Trump campaign officials, demonstrating the gravity of the Trump-Russia scandal," she continued.
Pelosi went on to say that special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe should be allowed to continue "unhindered."
Not surprisingly, President Trump had a starkly different response to the indictments.
"Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President," Trump wrote on Twitter. "The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong - no collusion!"
The Department of Justice announced the charges on Friday.
"The indictment charges thirteen Russian nationals and three Russian companies for committing federal crimes while seeking to interfere in the United States political system, including the 2016 Presidential election," the department noted in a news release.
