A stray dog has adopted an orphaned piglet and raised him along with her pups.

For the last two weeks, she has been nursing the piglet, who can be seen huddling with other pups and squabbling for her milk.

The dog has made her home an abandoned drain in Raichur, South India.

The heart-warming gesture of the dog has been drawing many visitors, who wait to see her feeding the pups and the piglet.

A local resident Chenna Basava said a sow had given birth to a litter of piglets in the same area at about the same time the dog had delivered her pups.

“The piglet got separated accidentally from its herd and was rescued by the dog,” he added.
