Giving a stern directive to the khap panchayats that are often found taking law into their hands in the name of "honour", a Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra on Monday said that no khap, panchayat, group or individual has the right to interfere in a marriage between two consenting adults. The apex court also asked the petitioners and the Central government to come up with potent suggestions to tackle the khap panchayats and crimes committed by them.
