Elk Refuses to Move Off Idaho Highway Despite Desperate Attempts by Police

An elk sparked a hilarious police standoff on a highway in the city of Hauser, Idaho, after it refused to be moved off the road by officers on Saturday, January 27.This video taken by eyewitness Michelle Janshen shows the moment the animal approached officers patrolling Highway 53, close to the junction with Pleasant View Road. At one point during the clip, an officer can be seen waving his arms in the air in a desperate bid to scare it away. Despite several attempts, the animal still refuse to budge.The standoff continued for at least 30 minutes before the elk retreated, according to local news reports.
