Doomsday Clock At 2 Minutes To Midnight As Situation Grows More Dire

On Thursday, the Doomsday Clock, a symbol of how close the world is to total annihilation, moved thirty seconds closer to midnight for the first time since the United States and the Soviet Union both conducted hydrogen bomb tests in 1953. Last year, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moved the clock from three minutes to midnight to 2.5 minutes to midnight. The closest to midnight is now a draw between two years, 1953 and 2018.
