Conor McGregor Stripped of Lightweight Belt
  • 6 years ago
The “champ-champ” is no longer a belt-holder anymore.

That’s right, UFC president Dana White has revealed that the company has stripped Conor McGregor of the lightweight belt for inactivity.

And if you keep up with things, you’ll know this is the SECOND time the fighter has been stripped.

McGregor was first stripped of the featherweight belt back November of 2016, after winning it the year before. But since he never defended it, it was taken away.

Conor hasn’t stepped in the octagon since beating Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. But remained inactive from MMA in 2017 – and rumor had it he didn’t want to come back until late 2018.

And Dana said he can’t hold up a division for 2 years, so they had to strip him of the belt.

Conor has yet to address the issue.
