On Wednesday, a bitter winter storm gripped much of the United States' South, prompting schools to close and thousands of flights to be delayed or cancelled as snow, ice and record-breaking temperatures gripped the region. According to the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Service, the storm has led to at least one death after a vehicle in Austin, Texas, plunged more than 30 feet off a frozen overpass late on Tuesday, killing a man in his 40s.
