Coast Guard Closes Mississippi River Near St. Louis

A 5-mile long section of the Mississippi River has been closed on Tuesday by the U.S. Coast Guard. According to the agency, hazardous conditions caused by rising river levels in Missouri have led to the decision. Centered near St. Louis, that portion of the river has been closed off to all vessel traffic.
