Execution rate drops over lethal injection disputes

A continued decline in the number of executions in the United States in 2015 is due in part to legal fights over drugs used in a series of botched lethal injections. On Wednesday the nonprofit Death Penalty Information Center said in a report that the 28 executions so far in 2015, with no more scheduled, was the lowest number since 1991.
