California mudslides kill 15, more feared dead in deluge

Mudslides that swept through Santa Barbara county, an affluent stretch of California’s coast, have left at least 15 people dead. The mudslides which damaged historic hotels and celebrities homes resulted from a downpour on Tuesday. The green hillsides which once secluded the area were damaged by last months forest fires, some hotels had just reopened since the wildfire damage. The violent rainstorm turned highways into rivers and sent boulders into homes.
