Supersonic Air Travel Might Come Back in 2018

Supersonic air travel could be making a return in 2018. Boom Supersonic has reportedly gotten 76 pre-order for its Boom XB-1 airplane, which is similar to the Concorde but faster, smaller, and quieter. The plane holds 55 passengers and can reach a max speed of 1,687 miles per hour. That means you could fly from New York to London in just over three hours. Currently, supersonic air travel is illegal over the United States and a round trip ticket would cost upwards of $5,000.
