Hardik Pandya slammed 2nd 50 of his test career on day 2 of the 1st test match against South Africa. Earlier, Kagiso Rabada ended Rohit Sharma's 59-ball stay at the crease by trapping the batsman in the front with a length ball, seaming from outside off stump on the front foot and hit the batsman's pad. India lost their big wicket post lunch session as Philanders dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara. Pujara was caught in the 2nd slips on the bowling of Philanders. By the end of the 1st day India lost 3 of their batsman on low scores. While Vijay was out for just 1 runs, Dhawan threw his wicket at for 16 runs, but the biggest blow was the dismissals of skipper Virat Kohli who was out just 5 runs.
