ரஜினிகாந்த்தின் அரசியல் வருகை கர்நாடகாவிலும் அதிர்வலைகளை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. கர்நாடக சட்டசபை தேர்தலில், ரஜினிகாந்த் தங்கள் கட்சிக்கு எதிராக எதிராக பிரச்சாரம் செய்ய கூடுமோ என்ற யோசனையில் கர்நாடக காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர்கள் உள்ளனர். கர்நாடகாவில் வரும் மே மாத வாக்கில் பொதுத் தேர்தல் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இதையொட்டி ஆளும் காங்கிரஸ், எதிர்க்கட்சியான பாஜக, மற்றும் தேவகவுடா தலைமையிலான மதசார்பற்ற ஜனதாதள கட்சிகள் தீவிரமாக தேர்தல் வேலைகளில் இறங்கியுள்ளன.

கர்நாடகாவில் ரஜினிகாந்த் வெகு பிரபலம். மைசூர், பெங்களூர், கோலார், ஷிமோகா போன்ற தமிழர்கள் கணிசமாக வாழும் பகுதிகளில் ரஜினிகாந்த்தை பயன்படுத்தி தமிழர்கள் வாக்குகளை பெற பாஜக முயற்சி செய்துவருகிறது. கர்நாடக பாஜக தலைவர் எடியூரப்பாவுக்கு கர்நாடக தமிழர்களிடம் நல்ல மரியாதை உள்ளதால், அவர் ரஜினிகாந்த்தை தனது பிரச்சாரத்தில் பயன்படுத்த வெகுவாக முயல்வதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
