McDonald's New Dollar Menu Threatens Other Fast Food Chains

According to a report by Business Insider, McDonald's new value Dollar Menu stands to boost the company's sales by two percent, putting increased pressure on its competitors. In a note sent to investors on Tuesday, Credit Suisse analyst Jason West estimated that the value meal will result in 0.4 percent "sales risk" for the average fast-food chain. McDonalds represents a huge twenty percent market share of the fast-food industry, generating nearly thirty-six billion dollars in US sales.
