Menu prices at several fast food chains in California increased after a new law requiring a $20 minimum wage for workers went into effect. At one Burger King, a Texas Double Whopper meal increased by $1.80, and a Big Fish meal went up by $4. Other chains, like Hart House, owned by Kevin Hart, saw increases between 25 cents and $1 per item. In-N-Out Burger had more modest increases of around 25 cents for burgers and a nickel for sodas. The law impacts over 500,000 workers at chains with at least 60 US locations.
