California is entering its 13th day and has claimed over 267,500 acres of land. The wildfire is no the third largest in California history and is just 40 percent contained. Overnight winds have continued to fan the Thomas Fire forcing thousands of people to evacuate. The L.A times reported that the Thomas Fire could potentially be on track to become the largest fire in California history. Half of the largest wildfires in the state since 1861 have occurred in the last 15 years, with humans primarily to blame.
