My name is Mary Egan from Bantry, West Cork (however, I grew up in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon). I am a single mother of 4 whacky, wonderful children and I love to write and sing songs. I started writing when I was a teenager but it faded out when I had my first child 16 years ago, however in 2012 I felt inspired by traumatic events in my life and in 2013 I released an independent album of 12 original songs entitled “To All My Little Saviours” which I recorded with Alan Brooks (Psychedelic Pill) and Brian Casey (Brian Casey Music & Screenreader) at Brian’s Wavefield Recording Studios at Rooska, Bantry.
I love all types of music from classical, traditional, Cajun, punk, grunge……and I feel that this is reflected in this album.
The creative juices are definitely flowing again and I am looking forward to releasing a 2nd album of 13 new songs entitled “Terrific Hullabaloo” in early 2016. I am also delighted to be part of a female trio called “Alternative Fault” with Stephanie Coleman (John’s sister) and my daughter Emily and we are busy rehearsing covers and originals at the moment so we can hit the Cork gigging scene in Summer 2016.
