La Maldita Costumbre is one of the most well-known bands from the East Side in Lima. They started in 2008 as a Latin ska band but their sound is a mix between ska and different tropical sounds like cumbia, salsa and reggae. They won second place in “Lima Rockea”, a local music contest and in 2013 they released their first production “Del Este aunque nos cueste… El Sonidero Central”.
In recent years they played with important bands like Juantxo Skalari (Spain), El Cuarteto de Nos (Uruguay), Sonora de Llegar y Villa Cariño (Chile), and Pablo Molina (Argentina), among others. They also released two singles “Calzón” and “Caras Vemos” and in the 2016 they formed part of the line-up on Selvámonos, one of the most important music festivals in the country. After that they started the “Libertad Tour” which took the band to Mexico, being the highlight of the show in the Festival Cultural Alterno Cervantino in Guanajuato city.
"Estoy Aquí" is their latest single. It was produced in Mexico for Manueloko Corona from the ska band La Tremenda Korte and it’s a teaser of their upcoming production.
