FCC Expected To Rescind Obama-Era Net Neutrality Laws

On Thursday, the US Federal Communications Commission is expected to repeal net neutrality laws championed by former President Barack Obama that prohibited the blocking or slowing of internet traffic. The 2015 laws were meant to ensure a free and open internet, give consumers equal access to content and prevent service providers from favoring their own content. Chairman of the commission Ajit Pai proposes allowing those practices as long as they are disclosed.
