Timelapse Shows Lake-Effect Snow Band Rolling Off Lake Ontario

Bands of lake-effect snow swept across upstate New York on Tuesday, December 12. The band off Lake Ontario was expected to have snowfall at a rate of one to three inches per hour, a National Weather Service warning said.Bands also were sweeping off Lake Erie with a snow fall rate of two to three inches per hour, the weather service said.The snow on Tuesday added to the two to four inches that fell overnight from a system that moved across the Great Lakes and into the northeast.
