Protesters clashed with riot police at an Athens court on November 29 in an attempt to stop the auction of foreclosed properties.The auctions are a part of Greece’s bailout deal with the European Union.This footage shows protesters in Athens County Court discharging fire extinguishers, throwing objects, struggling with police officers wearing helmets and holding shields. The officers hit protesters with batons.Greek notaries boycotted auctions at the beginning of November because of safety concerns, Reuters reported, but they were scheduled to resume November 29.As part of the ongoing bailout, the European Central Bank saw the resumption of auctions as a necessary step to conclude the audit, Greek media outlets reported.
