Bryan Cranston Had a Chilling Encounter with Charles Manson

Bryan Cranston is talking about his encounter with Charles Manson… and he feels lucky to have escaped it alive.

The Breaking Bad star relived the day he and his cousin were riding horses at Spahn Ranch, about a year before the famous cult killings, when a man started yelling “Charlie’s on the hill!”

Everybody looked around and jumped on their horses and went away… but Bryan, who was 12-years-old at the time, rode up with his cousin to find this important man to see what all the fuss was about.

They found a drugged-out Manson on a horse in a near catatonic state. There were about eight or so people holding onto the reigns and the entire group just passed the boys without ceremony.

But Bryan instantly recalled Charlie when the news of the murders broke in August of 1969.

And yes, when he saw his face on the news, Bryan’s jaw dropped.

Bryan only tweeted that he shuddered when he heard the news of Manson’s passing, but he had spoken about the encounter a year before with The Daily Beast.
