Trump Administration Is Not Sure Whether To Lift Ban On Importing Elephant Trophies

Although the Trump Administration has said it wants to collect more information on the matter, they are considering reversing the ban on the import of elephant remains legally killed in Zimbabwe and Zambia. An official in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service pointed to a provision in the Endangered Species Act that allows the U.S government to issue importation permits if there is evidence that the hunting will benefit the conservation of the species.
