Obama Shakes Hands, Signs Books at Jury Duty

Former President Barack Obama reported for jury duty in Chicago on Wednesday, November 8, and made sure to thank others for reporting to serve.Security was strict around and inside the Richard J. Daley Center, where Obama showed up. He thanked people for serving and their shook hands, as his security detail could be heard telling people to stay seated.In addition to shaking hands, Obama signed copies of his books. “I’m not going to ask you for your vote,” he says at one point to laughter from the room. “I can’t run anymore.”The uploader, who broadcast this video live, says at one point that he almost didn’t come for jury duty.Those who serve on juries in Cook County are eligible to be paid $17.20 per day of service, a news report said.
