Just in case you were wondering… George Clooney doesn’t need the money anymore.

The Oscar Winner was speaking to the UK’s Sunday Times when he revealed he’s planning on working behind the camera, not in front of it, for the foreseeable future.

He said he’s acted for a long time and he’s 56 now, and he’s not the guy that gets the girl anymore. He added that acting used to be the way to pay the rent, but he reminded everybody that he sold a tequila company for a billion dollars – so he doesn’t need the money.

Clooney revealed that he made just $50,000 to produce, write, and direct Suburbicon, which took him two years to do. But he doesn’t mind, because it was a passion project.

Speaking about the film he said he has money so he can make the movies he wants to make now… and if you look at what he’s been doing for the past 15 years, he’s made films that weren’t going to get made otherwise… like Good Night, and Good Luck, Michael Clayton, or Up in the Air.
