There seems to be no respite from rains for the people of Chennai. Weathermen have forecasted rains for Chennai and neighbouring areas on Monday. Chennai received moderate to heavy rains early Monday morning. Going by the weather reports, local administrations have declared holiday for schools on Monday in Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur. Schools in various parts of the state have been closed since last Tuesday. According to weather reports, moderate to heavy spells are approaching many parts of Chennai. The last time Chennai received heavy rainfall was in December, 2015 when the entire city and various parts of the state were submerged in water.
