The annual Halloween parade in Greenwich Village, New York City, carried on as scheduled hours after a truck attack that left eight dead.In full holiday spirit, people took to the streets in elaborate costumes and make-up for the city’s 44th annual parade.The festivities began at 7 pm. Just four hours earlier, an Uzbekistan man rammed a truck into pedestrians in lower Manhattan, killing eight people and injuring over a dozen. The attacker was identified as 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov, and according to the New York Times was in critical condition as of Tuesday night.Police presence was ramped up at the parade, with units equipped with heavy weapons deployed around key locations in the city.
