President Trump on Saturday thanked former President Jimmy Carter for his remarks on the current media coverage.

President Trump took to Twitter Saturday morning and thanked former President Jimmy Carter for his remarks on the current media coverage.
"Just read the nice remarks by President Jimmy Carter about me and how badly I am treated by the press (Fake News). Thank you Mr. President!" Trump tweeted.
He was likely referring to comments made by Carter during a recent interview with the New York Times.
"I think the media have been harder on Trump than any other president certainly that I've known about," Carter told the Times. "I think they feel free to claim that Trump is mentally deranged and everything else without hesitation."
Trump has repeatedly slammed the media since he took office, claiming that stories about him are often inaccurate.
"Keep hearing about 'tiny' amount of money spent on Facebook ads. What about the billions of dollars of Fake News on CNN, ABC, NBC & CBS?" Trump tweeted on October 21.
"So much Fake News being put in dying magazines and newspapers. Only place worse may be @NBCNews, @CBSNews, @ABC and @CNN," he wrote in another tweet. "Fiction writers!"
