Here’s why Nina Dobrev stopped sinking her teeth in to the Vampire Diaries series.
The actress decided to leave the show and not sign on for their seventh season, and now Nina is explaining why she made the decision to jump. She tells Harper’s Bazaar magazine, “That was the plan from the get-go.”
Nina seems to subscribe to the notion that it’s better to be in a state of discomfort than to just coast through a secure position.
She tells the magazine, “If anything, the fact that leaving terrified me drove me even more… I needed to feel that fear of ‘oh my god, what if I never get a job again?’ That just made me want to work five times as hard to make sure that didn’t happen…”
Nina decided to be much pickier about the roles she played, and considering she has a variety of motion pictures in the works, it seems to be paying off.
