Report: Trump 'Afraid Of Firing' Bannon

Reuters reported on Wednesday that despite growing calls for Steve Bannon’s dismissal, President Trump is hesitant to let him go.

The job security of White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has increasingly been in question and his reported tumultuous relationship with national security advisor H.R. McMaster has further fueled talk of his ouster.

Reuters reported on Wednesday that despite growing calls for Bannon’s dismissal, President Trump is hesitant to let him go.
“A source close to the White House,” told the news agency, “The president obviously is very nervous and afraid of firing him.”
According to Reuters, “The source floated the possibility that Bannon could be demoted instead of fired, noting that he might turn into a harsh critic of the administration if he is forced out of the inner circle.”
During Tuesday’s press briefing, Trump was asked if he still has confidence in the chief strategist.
“I like him. He's a good man. He is not a racist, I can tell you that....He actually gets a very unfair press in that regard," Trump said. “We’ll see what happens with Mr. Bannon. But, he’s a good person."
CBS News is reporting, based on several insiders, that “Bannon has never been in more jeopardy, and one well-placed source said he could be gone by the end of this week.”
Meanwhile, a source told Fox News, “President Trump is just waiting for him to resign.”
