Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel has been re-elected to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat after a tense election, the Congress party has claimed. The Congress had approached the Election Commission seeking to invalidate the votes of its two legislators who voted for the BJP, which the EC agreed after reviewing the matter. Leaders of the ruling BJP also went to the Election Commission.
