Caught On Cop's Body Cam: A Surprise Marriage Proposal
  • 7 years ago
A marriage proposal that recently took place in Grapevine, Texas involved a traffic stop and a warrant scare.

Some marriage proposals are private and simple, while others involve large casts of players, carefully choreographed happenings, and very surprised recipients.
In the latter category is one that recently took place in Grapevine, Texas and involved a traffic stop and a warrant scare.
The plan was devised by Stephen Smith, a dispatcher for the Grapevine Police Department.
On the morning of July 7, he intentionally left his iPhone at home so he could later call his girlfriend Amanda Radican and ask her to drop it off at the station.
While on her way to do just that, she was pulled over.
Though the officer, who was in on the plan, initially made it appear that it was just a routine stop, he soon delivered the very bad, and entirely false, news that the car she was driving had a warrant on it.
Understandably, Radican burst into tears. Her sobs turned to smiles when she saw Smith down on one knee and asking for her hand in marriage.
The plan worked--she said yes.
