John McEnroe Refuses to Apologize For Serena Williams Comments

John McEnroe continues to make a racket and refuses to apologize for comments he made about how Serena Williams would rank about 700th if she competed against men in tennis matches.

Serena is considered the greatest female tennis player of all time, but McEnroe tells NPR, “If she played the men’s circuit, she’d be like 700 in the world.”

Serena didn’t stay quiet. She Tweeted out, “Dear John, I adore and respect you but please please keep me out of your statements that are not factually based… I’ve never played anyone ranked ‘there’ nor do I have time. Respect me and my privacy as I’m trying to have a baby. Good day, sir.”

McEnroe rallied back, telling CBS This Morning that he wouldn’t apologize because “It’s not necessary,” and he “didn’t know it would create controversy.”

He doesn’t have an apology, but he has a solution. He tells CBS, “Why don’t you combine, just solve the problem – I’m sure the men would be all for this – the men and women play together… And then we don’t have to guess.”

McEnroe doesn’t play tennis anymore, but he still serves heat.
