Report: Trump's Visit To UK Postponed

President Trump's visit to the U.K. has reportedly been postponed, according to the Guardian.

President Trump's visit to the U.K. has apparently been postponed, according to the Guardian.
The media outlet reported, citing inside sources, "...Trump has told (UK Prime Minister) Theresa May in a phone call he does not want to go ahead with a state visit to Britain until the British public supports him coming. The US president said he did not want to come if there were large-scale protests and his remarks in effect put the visit on hold for some time."
During May's visit to the U.S. in January, she had noted, "I have...been able to convey Her Majesty The Queen’s hope that President Trump and the First Lady would pay a state visit to the United Kingdom later this year. And I’m delighted that the President has accepted that invitation."
However, Trump has been a controversial figure in the U.K. and his recent remarks about London Mayor Sadiq Khan's response to the terror attack were among some of many to spark strong reactions.
Trump's tweets read, “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’” and, “Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his ‘no reason to be alarmed’ statement. MSM [mainstream media] is working hard to sell it!”
The New York Times noted that Trump "mischaracterized" Khan’s use of the phrase “no reason to be alarmed” in both tweets. Though Khan did use those words, he was speaking about the increase in police presence following the attack, not the act of terrorism itself.
Meanwhile, May's office is disputing the report about Trump's visit being put on hold, with a spokesperson noting, "We aren’t going to comment on speculation about the contents of private phone conversations. The queen extended an invitation to President Trump to visit the UK and there is no change to those plans."
