Government Takes Full Control of Homs After Final Rebel Evacuation

The Syrian government is back in full control of Homs for the first time since 2011, following the last in a series of evacuations of opposition fighters and their families.The final phase of an evacuation that has been ongoing for weeks left the neighborhood of al-Waer over the weekend of May 20 and 21, as part of a resettlement agreement. A total of 3,000 people were relocated.This video was shared by a pro-government media activist and shows the raising of a Syrian flag in the city’s al-Waer neighborhood.
