Collision in Front of Oklahoma School Bus, No Students Injured

No students were injured when two cars crashed directly in front of a school bus near Oklahoma City on April 26. The Edmond Public Schools released the bus dashcam video this week, showing the crash and the driver’s calm reaction.In the video, a pickup truck can be seen crossing the median, then crashing into another car head-on, flipping the truck on its roof. The truck slides into the front of the school bus.The driver, who school officials said didn’t want to be identified, can be heard reporting the accident, saying the accident was serious but that everyone aboard the bus was OK. She then asks a student to collect everyone’s names and where they are sitting on the bus. She also asks for another bus to be sent to transport the students to their final destination.At the same time, bystanders are seen attempting to aid the drivers of the truck and car involved in the crash. Three people traveling in the truck and car were taken to the hospital with critical injuries, according to a news report.Susan Parks-Schlepp, Edmond Public Schools spokeswoman, said 19 students were on the bus from Edmond North High School and Edmond Santa Fe High School and they were returning from afternoon programs involving pre-engineering and technology. Two buses came to the scene to take the students back to their respective schools.
