Iraqi Forces Begin New Offensive, Attacking IS From North of Mosul

Following weeks of fighting against Islamic State in Mosul with no major advances, Iraqi forces have launched a new offensive from the north of the city, according to Iraqi sources.The new offensive meant that Islamic State forces were battling on two fronts against Iraqi forces in areas including the historic Old City and the streets around the Grand al-Nuri Mosque, an important stronghold.Iraqi forces were reported on May 4 to have made several advances during the new offensive.The footage was shared by the Iraqi Federal Police and is described as showing Iraqi forces north of Mosul.
