Rajiv Mehrishi appointed as new Home Secretary, replaces LC Goyal

The government has replaced LC Goyal as the Home Secretary and appointed outgoing Secretary of Economic Affairs, Rajiv Mehrishi as the new Home Secretary. An order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said Goyal has himself sought voluntary retirement from service. He is 1978 batch IAS officer.
