On October 7, Shire hosted its second annual Global Day of Service. More than one-third of our newly expanded workforce participated in volunteer projects worldwide. Employee volunteers dedicated over 25,000 hours of their time in more than 150 locations. Many projects focused on helping children to “overcome odds.” They included employees helping prepare the SeriousFun Children’s Network camp in Ireland for fall programs, and others developing activity booklets for sick children in Switzerland.
