JS Khehar appointed as CJI, first Sikh to hold post | Oneindia News

J S Khehar has been appointed the next Chief Justice of India. Khehar will be first Sikh to be sworn as new CJI. He will be 44th CJI. Chief Justice of India T S Thakur recommended the government to appoint Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar as his successor. TS Thakur will retire from office on January 3, 2017.
