North Carolina reaches deal to repeal transgender bathroom law

North Carolina Republican lawmakers reached an agreement to repeal the state's law prohibiting transgender people from using public restrooms based on their gender identities. The deal, reached with Democrat Roy Cooper, is set for a vote Thursday morning. LGBTQ rights advocates argue that the compromise would still allow discrimination. The legislature would prohibit cities from offering their own set of restroom protections for vulnerable groups for four years. \
