'Bathroom Bill' to cost North Carolina $3.7 billion by 2028

The oft criticized North Carolina HB2 bill — otherwise known as the "Bathroom Law" — isn't doing the state any favors when it comes to the economy. This is according to a Associate Press analysis, which states that the law limiting LGBT protections will cost the state more than $3.76 billion in lost business over a dozen years. North Carolina has seen notable concert and sporting events pulled in response to the law. The biggest impact on the state's business? PayPal's decision not to build a global operation's center in Charlotte, which, according to a North Carolina Commerce Department analysis the AP cited, would've pumped $2.6 billion into the state's economy by 2028.
