States Sue Obama Administration Over Transgender Health Care

Texas continues it's war on transgender people as one of five states suing the Obama administration over extending Obamacare's nondiscrimination law to transgender individuals. Those offended by the policy say the decision to include trans people "represents a radical invasion of the federal bureaucracy into a doctor’s medical judgment." Obamacare, officially known as The Affordable Care Act, was signed into law in 2010 and included anti-discrimination provisions intended to keep insurers from upcharging customers or denying them coverage because of their age or sex. That law had some gaps in protection, leaving the policy open to interpretation. Every year since it passed, thousands of consumers have complained about being discriminated against. The states, which also include Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Kentucky, argue the medical groups would be forced to act counter to their religious beliefs "and perform harmful medical transition procedures or else suffer massive financial liability,"
