Trump travel ban now blocked by second judge
  • 7 years ago
President Donald Trump's travel ban received another blow Wednesday morning when a federal judge in Maryland suspended a portion of the ban. This came after a federal judge in Hawaii issued a nationwide halt to the ban that would have barred new visas and prevented the admission of new refugees. Trump vowed to fight the case "as far as it needs to go," including the Supreme Court. “Let me tell you something, I think we ought to go back to the first one and go all the way,” Trump said. “The danger is clear, the law is clear, the need for my executive order is clear.” Trump's travel ban would restrict travel for citizens of six Muslim-majority countries. His revised plan removed Iraq from the list of banned countries, exempted those with green cards and visas and removed a provision that arguably prioritizes certain religious minorities.
