Police arrests Standing Rock activists as pipeline camp empties

Police arrested 10 protesters who refused to the leave the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation near the Dakota Access Pipeline on Thursday. After the deadline to leave the area expired, about 75 people remained at the site taunting authorities. Police made arrests after nearly 20 fires were set by protesters in a departure ceremony, leaving two people injured, AP reported. Activists and protesters remained on the federal campsite grounds for six months in an attempt to block construction of the pipeline.
