Defense Secretary Jim Mattis Breaks With Trump On Media Being 'The Enemy'

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis seems to disagree with President Trump's view that the media is "the enemy of the American people."

President Trump has been lashing out at press lately and has even called the media "the enemy of the American people."
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis however seems to distance himself from Trump's attacks on media in his recent remarks.
According to the Washington Post, "Mattis, asked directly about Trump’s criticism of the media, said he has had 'some rather contentious times with the press' but considers the institution 'a constituency that we deal with.'"
Mattis made those comments during a visit to the Middle East and also said, "I don’t have any issues with the press myself."
On Friday, President Trump had tweeted, "The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!"
And on Saturday, he posted another tweet, "Don't believe the main stream (fake news) media. The White House is running VERY WELL. I inherited a MESS and am in the process of fixing it."
