Dramatic footage has emerged of a shopping mall engulfed flames in northern China.

The video, captured in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province last Friday, shows a thick cloud of smoke rising into the sky as firefighters try to extinguish the blaze.

The fire reportedly lasted for seven hours and 14 fire engines were called to the scene to tackle the fire.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
