Gojira's Joe Duplantier talks about a gigantic stone under Manhattan that enabled the city to have such tall buildings and how he thinks there's a mystical power to it that engenders creativity, which fed into 'Magma.' He explains he has always wanted to live in New York and chose to relocate there to have a place to raise his family and build a studio. Despite being in the concrete jungle, he still feels connected to nature, different as the city may be from the small town in which he and his brother grew up. October 20, 2016.
