Uber drivers to be paid $20M over driver deception claims

Uber is paying drivers $20 million to settle allegations that the company misinformed drivers how much they would earn. The ride-hailing service also allegedly misled drivers on how much they would have to pay to finance a car. The agreement with Federal Trade Commission covered statements the company made from 2013 to 2015 in efforts to recruit more drivers. The FTC claimed that Uber drivers in 18 different cities were making on average far less than indicated on the company's website. Most of the proceeds from Uber’s settlement is to be paid out to drivers.
